This weeks Planning post is about Krishna and his mother. Krishna as a young child was always known as a trickster. However, I do not think Krishna was tricking anyone when he showed the whole universe inside of his mouth. How this came about was, Krishna was caught eating mud! The word soon got back to his mother and she told him to open his mouth. He hesitated but when he did, his mother saw the whole universe and fainted. She cried to Krishna asking him who is he? She then realized that her son is the supreme one! During my research I realized that they believe Krishna is the Supreme Vishnu! Yashoda is the name of Krishna's mother. Yashoda is a self-less mother. She also thought she gave birth to a daughter and not a son who is Krishna. I Like this story because It shows how powerful Krishna is. It is pretty unique how he reveals his strength to his mother. I couldn't imagine how shocking it is to know as a mother you birthed the Supreme Vishnu! Im not sure if I'm go...

Week 10 Planning

Image
This week I would like to do a planning post over what I may write my next story on for my portfolio. I think my Charlie and the Chocolate Factory theme has come to an end. I think this is because Krishna's story is a completely new monster. Also, I really enjoy the story of Krishna. The most frightening part of Krishnas infancy was when King Kamsa ordered Putana the evil demoness, to kill every baby in the village. I would like to start off my story telling with this scene because it is a perfect example of what fear will make you do. King Kamsa was scared that he was going to face his death from one of the infants. I would like to remake the characters in my storytelling but keep the plot the same. I think I may put its n context with the United States and use the current President to play King Kamsa. President Trump could order the someone to go and kill all of the children so he is not assassinated. However, he will come to a road block because King Kamsa was told that th...

Week 5 Planning: Ramayana culture

Image
In this post I want to talk about the influence of the Ramayana on Hindu beliefs. Hinduism is practiced commonly in South Asia. The interesting things I have found out about Hinduism are, it is the oldest religion, some refer to it as the "eternal religion" because it is know to extend beyond the history of humans beings. Hinduism is also know to be a combiniation  of many Indian cultures and traditions. The Ramayana tradition of this culture is taught widely through-out South Asia just like the tales of homer was taught. Rama who is one of the main characters in the Ramayana is a god who is idolized and his lessons have a huge impact on Hindu beliefs. I am suprised to say that Vishnu is apart of the Hindu trinity. The other two gods that are apart of it is Shiva and Brahama. Rama is the seventh avatar of Vishnu. in the Ramayana he came to Earth as a god of strength and he defeated Ravana who was embodied with demonic behavior. Rama is a very positive character in the Ramay...
