Feedback Strategies

Image
I really enjoyed the Presence, Not Praise article! What caught my attention was when Grosz, talked about the negative reactions children can have to having too much praise. Some children may not perform as well after the praise or respond to the praise by quitting. I believe presence does boost the confidence of children because it shows someone cares. In absence children seem to loose focus and also not perform as well. The link to How to Craft Constructive Feedback is informative because it gives an outline to how to give constructive criticism . Observe, Describe, Suggest is a logical way to give criticism. It is important to always describe how and article or reading made you feel because that will help the Author know if they were successful at how they wanted to protray their story.                                                       ...

Project Research, Storybook.

Image
I have decided to focus my storybook on the Incarnation of Krishna and his time on Earth. I began my research my reading some short stories about his life from the book Krishna Krishna - . Below I will be discussing three stories and how I plan to retell the stories. Incarnation of Krishna In this story there is a positive and negative. Devaki, whom is carrying the divine Krishna is shinning brightly as a symbol of the divine prophecy, vindication. Kansa was still worried about his death approaching him because of the birth of the eight-son and spends all his time trying to find the right time to kill his sister and the eight-son. I have brainstormed the thought of turning the characters into a cinderella story because Krishna is showing the potential to save the Earth from its problems and he is not even born yet and it reminded  me of the Cinderella story. Childhood Pranks of Krishna  In this story, they are celebrating the occasion of Krishna. Pounds of butt...

Reading Notes: Ramayana Part B

Image
I decided to lay out my notes differently this time. I wanted to focus more on the characters to see what they reminded me of when considering characteristics and what can I relate them to. In Sugreeva's Story, I was thinking about making Vali weak as a plot twist because they admired him because of how strong and swift he is. He also worshipped Shiva, and re-writing the story for Vali to turn his back on him would be interesting as well. Since, Vali would not be this strong character I could depict Mayavi as the character of strength and he could overcome Vali. I was surprised when Rama shot the bow and it traveled a far distance but did not pierce anyone or anything. I think I can use that in the retelling of the story but Im quite sure how yet.                                                                     ...

Reading Notes: Narayans Ramayana

Image
As I was reading Narayans Ramayana, I surprised to come across many different stories. I was expecting a long Novel type of reading not multiple stories. I am not familiar with any of the material. However, the stories are still intriguing. I actually think it is a good thing I don't have any prior knowledge of most of these stories because I can look at them from a clear perspective. I am going to write about a few of the stories that are intriguing to me below in my post!                                                       Story of Rama's Initiation  As I am reading about Rama's initiation, I like how the story began by talking about how the King is fulfilled in his duties and how committed he is to being the ruler of Kosala. It made me even more surprised when Sage Viswamirtha asked the King to take his son, Rama with him to help. There...
