Project Research, Storybook.
I have decided to focus my storybook on the Incarnation of Krishna and his time on Earth. I began my research my reading some short stories about his life from the book Krishna Krishna - . Below I will be discussing three stories and how I plan to retell the stories.
Incarnation of Krishna
In this story there is a positive and negative. Devaki, whom is carrying the divine Krishna is shinning brightly as a symbol of the divine prophecy, vindication. Kansa was still worried about his death approaching him because of the birth of the eight-son and spends all his time trying to find the right time to kill his sister and the eight-son. I have brainstormed the thought of turning the characters into a cinderella story because Krishna is showing the potential to save the Earth from its problems and he is not even born yet and it reminded me of the Cinderella story.
Childhood Pranks of Krishna
In this story, they are celebrating the occasion of Krishna. Pounds of butter and milk fell on Krishna and the child was found licking the waste off him, which is surprising because the amount that fell was so heaving to would've taken many men to move it. This symbolizes the strength and power he has even though he is only a child. Krishna is depicted as the golden child, so I plan to retell the story in a family setting. I think it would be pretty cool to characterize Krishna as the "Red headed, Step child" but switch the story up to where he shows his strength just like Krishna.
Universe in Mouth
All I can say is, Oh My Gosh ! I remember this story form my religious studies class! I have to retell this one . Krishna is seen eating dirt by his brothers and they go and tell on him, but Krishna lies and say he didn't so he is not shamed. Yashoda peaks inside his mouth and sees the entire universe! I plan on retelling this story by possibly switching around the characters and maybe have one of the brothers be blessed with such capabilities.
