Week 13 Story telling: Who's the King?

Image
It was Senior year at Chocolate High, two weeks before Prom night. I was not at all in any way apart of the popular crowd but I had a few good friends, teammates and of course some haters. There was always typical High School drama. How could there not be drama with the different clicks in High School. There were the blacks, whites, hispanics, athletes, band geeks, cheerleaders and many more. The few weeks before prom, the tension was rising. I can remember there was  great excitement too because there was  not always a prom night at Chocolate High. My senior year was the first year Chocolate High had a prom. The three other High schools had prom nights for years but Chocolate High did not. They said Chocolate High used to have a prom night but it caused so much drama that they stopped having prom night. Therefore, everyone was so excited to find out who will be Prom King and Queen. I was also excited but I knew I would never be selected to be on Prom court. However, it actual...

Reading Notes Part B: Why the Owl is Not the King of Birds

Image
Why the  Owl is Not the King of Birds is a relatable story in my opinion. I am choosing this story to focus in because it reminded me of a high school prom situation. The birds realized that there was not a king for the birds but there are kings for fish, humans, and beasts. The Crows and the Owls never got along with each other. Therefore, the owls and the crows did not get a long. The birds decided that the owl should be the king and the crow threw a fit. In result of that, the birds made the turtle dove the king of the birds.  In my retelling of the story I want to create a high school scene between the crow and the owl. I think is t would be a pretty cool idea to have a drama filled background story to why the crow and owl dislike each other. I am thinking about having the story lead up to Prom night. There we will see what bird shall be king of all birds ! I think bird drama sounds pretty funny.  King Owl Bibliography:  Wh...

Reading Notes Part A: Measure of Rice

Image
This week I have decided to continue the Jatakas Tales! The story that is most interesting to me is the "Measure of Rice story". I like this story for many reasons. The main reason is, I liked how to horse dealer "checked" the new valuer. In the story the king was feeling greedy and wanted to make more wealth. However, the people of the town and the horse dealer was not as naive as he thought they were going to be. The king went out and got a new valuer. The new valuer was a poor man and he wanted the new valuer to increase the value of everything so he can gain more wealth. However the horse dealer went to the old valuer for advice and he went to question the new valuer in front of the king. The new valuer ended up getting showed up by his questions and ran away from the crowd of people laughing at him. In my retelling of the story I want to create the same thing except from a Chocolaty perspective. I could have Willy Wonka turn into a money hungry boss. Willy Wonk...
