Reading Options

While reading through what we will be encountering through out the semester, a few things caught my attention. I was not aware that we could check out Kindles, with books downloaded on it already! I am excited to use this resource in "OUr" Library! For week three and week four, I am planning on choosing the Narayan. Ramayana (Kamban). In the comments it says this reading is an excellent introduction to the Ramayana based on the Tamil version. Also, reading the Reading Guide was quite entertaining, the best part is on pg.5, where it says Dasharatha gets special rice to get his wives pregnant. For week 5, I started watching "Sita Sings the Blues" and I am already impressed by the animation. Watching part of the video made me want to skip to week 5 of this class! I see these stories will be filled with drama, I have skimmed over Rama's Exile. It has to be hard for Dasharatha to exile Rama.

I also like the layout our Professor have for the comic books and the readings below it for us to compare the story to the comic book.


I am sad to say, I saw the tab for Week 10 and 11 Krishna/Tales and there was no information. I absolutely love the Tales of Krishna! I learned about the Lord Krishna in Religious Studies class. I remember him growing up as a prankster and many other things. We watched this video below called "Little Krishna" as an assignment and compared it the to book we read. I am super excited for this section in the class.

Week 13 Story telling: Who's the King?

It was Senior year at Chocolate High, two weeks before Prom night. I was not at all in any way apart of the popular crowd but I had a few good friends, teammates and of course some haters. There was always typical High School drama. How could there not be drama with the different clicks in High School. There were the blacks, whites, hispanics, athletes, band geeks, cheerleaders and many more. The few weeks before prom, the tension was rising. I can remember there was  great excitement too because there was  not always a prom night at Chocolate High. My senior year was the first year Chocolate High had a prom. The three other High schools had prom nights for years but Chocolate High did not. They said Chocolate High used to have a prom night but it caused so much drama that they stopped having prom night.
