Week 2 Story : The Decieving Homeless Man

Every football game day, a homeless man would stand outside Lloyd Noble.

Early in the morning he would begin to yell, "The sky is burning! Do you know what happens when the sky burns?"

The skies started brewing up dark orange clouds and winds started picking up furiously! The thunder sound like a train wreck. The fans started to believe him, and began to buy protective rain coats to him. The homeless man began to run towards campus yelling "The Sky is burning!"

Will Smith heard him yelling at the top of his lungs and he asked, "What in the world are you talking about?"

The sky is going to pour out Sulfuric Acid! You need to buy a protective rain rain coat to protect yourself. Come with me to save other people.

Will Smith started running with him and Tom Hanks asked why are you all running the sky is burning! He began to run with the fans and too!

More and more fans began to run towards the stadium until there was a thousand fans surrounding the homeless man. Will Smith called Denzel Washington to join them and help everyone protect themselves.

At last, President Boren saw all the commotion and all the fans running, saying the sky is burning. He got on the Boomer Sooner Wagon to catch up with everyone. Once he caught up with everyone he yelled "Stop Running!" at the top of his lungs.

Why are you running and yelling " the Sky is burning" asked President Boren.

The fans replied, " it is true the sky is burning and it will burn everyone on campus.

Who said this? asked President Boren.

All together everyone yelled, "The homeless man"

Then suddenly the homeless man disappeared into the air and took everyones money from the rain coats.

  1. I loved the original story of The Foolish, Timid Rabbit. It took me a minute to catch onto what you were doing, but when I realized, I thought it was great and original! (Any story with Tom Hanks has to be great). Something that I can take away from this story is your method of keeping the overall idea the same, but changing the characters and setting completely. My stories so far have been pretty similar to their original, because I am not too sure how to go about branching out and creating something almost new.

  2. I loved that you incorporated celebrities into the story! I had never heard of the original story or read the on that you retold, but I enjoyed reading your version. I could also kind of see this happening just because of all the people who stand on the edge of campus corner and yell about all sorts of silly things, and some people are even on campus! I read a sign that said people who get breast cancer get it because they had an abortion, which makes absolutely no sense!! Keep up the good work!
