Extra Credit Reading: The Guilty Dogs

Image
For my extra reading I decided to do Jatakas Tales! I particularly like the "Guilty Dogs" story. I like this story because it is a common thing to blame someone who actually did not do the crime. I thought it was pretty true that the King ordered for all of the dogs that were not royal to be killed. Especially since the dogs that actually did it was the royal dogs. I am glad in the story someone actually spoke up and asked the King if his orders were just to the dogs that were actually innocent. The dogs that actually did the crime ended up getting caught anyways. I am a firm believer of what is done in the dark always come to the light . I think that is the moral of the story in this case. Im many situations that we face, we could apply this moral to keep from doing things that we should not do. Image info: Dogs I really enjoyed the Jatakas Tales this semester. I did not know of them until I read them in this class and I wish there was a lot more of them or maybe I need

Story: My Throne !

Image
It was a bright and early chocolatey morning at the chocolate factory. Today, is actually a special day for everyone at the chocolate factory and for the people in the town who enjoy chocolate! Today, is my birthday! Yes! It is the King of Chocolate birthday. Every year, we throw a big chocolate party to celebrate. There is wonderful music. People dress up and of course there is chocolate galore. The party usually starts at noon every year but I noticed something was a little different today. No one in the factory got up to celebrate. Also , no one in the town got up to celebrate and I do not understand what was going on. I was looking forward to this moment for the past month. Can you believe there was not even  music playing. I felt a little disrespected. For as long as I can remember, everyone always celebrated my birthday. I began to ask all of my Oompa-Lompas, why was no one celebrating my birthday. The crazy part about that was none of them answered me or even looked me in my f

Reading Part B: Seven Secrets of Goddess

Image
This week I decided to do a post over the Seven Secrets of Goddess. I found it interesting that most of the gods that we have talked about this semester is very violet when it comes to someone threatening their place as king or god. I was surprised to see how a god would kill their own family because they feel threatened that they would take their place. When I think of a god, I think of someone peaceful, graceful and etc. Therefore, when I listened to the video, "Seven Secrets of Goddess" I was shocked to  hear Gaia ate his own children to keep them from taking over his thrown. I think this week I am going to write a story about Willy Wonka being threatened. I think it could be an interesting story to have someone come to the factory and try to take his factory from him. I haven't decided if ima make it a family member or an enemy.  The King of the Thrown  Bibliography

Story Telling: Kartikeya and Ganesha Race!

Image
Hello, I am the great god shiva! I am the mountain mendicant! My wife Parvati is the mountain princess. I not sure what I would with out her. We have two beautiful sons names Ganesha and Kartikeya. Today just so happens to be a big day for the both of them! Kartikeya has been super energetic and excited about the race today. Ganesha however, has not seemed too worried about losing against his brother. They both are competing for the biggest mango in our country. A mango has spiritual significance in our religion. The mango represents prosperity and happiness. Which ever one of my sons win this race will be one of the happiest and successful person in our village. Every year the people of our village hosts this race for one family. This year we were lucky to be chosen. The start of the race will begin when the sun is at the peak of the sky. My wife and I started to prepare our sons for the race. My wife prepared a healthy meal for us and we spent quality time together before the race.

Reading Part B: 7 Secrets from Hindu Calendar Art Chp. 2

Image
In the beginning of Seven Secrets from Hindu Calendar Narayan's Secret, they show a picture of Narayan waking up. When Narayan wakes up the call this the moment that the world becomes into being. Narayan is known as a great and when he sleeps the world does not exist. I find that a bit extreme. It made sense whenever the video talked about the urgency for the Greeks to be heroes, the Christians to be saved and the Muslims to surrender to their god. The urgency is there because these religions do not believe in re-birth. Therefore, they all feel the need to be accomplished in the eyes of their god while they are here on earth. However, Hindus believe in re-birth!  I find it interesting that Narayan sleeps on an ocean of still milk. Narayan is quite powerful in the world of Hindu gods. The milk represents possibilities and all things emerge from the milk when Narayan opens his eyes. What I am understanding from the video is when Narayan sleeps all things are still and do not exi

Reading Part A: 7 Secrets from Hindu Calendar Art Chp. 1

The beginning of this video starts off by showing an image of Shivas family. Shiva was known as a mountain mendicant. His wife is the Goddess Parvati who is a mountain princess. They had two children one named Ganesha who has a head of an Elephant and Kartikeya who holds a spear. While watching the video I could not help but to wonder why Kartikeya was holding a spear and why Ganesha head is a head of an elephant. Like the video says, some may find it hard to accept that hindus have different gods and goddesses. I think it is weird that the gods and goddesses have different physical characteristics, such as the elephant head and four arms. I also agree with what the video was saying about Hinduism and their different gods. I don't understand how they worship so many different gods but that it is normal to them because that is all they know. As I was listening to the video, I wondered what is the significance behind a mango. The mango is what Kartikeya and Ganesha raced around the

Week 13 Story telling: Who's the King?

It was Senior year at Chocolate High, two weeks before Prom night. I was not at all in any way apart of the popular crowd but I had a few good friends, teammates and of course some haters. There was always typical High School drama. How could there not be drama with the different clicks in High School. There were the blacks, whites, hispanics, athletes, band geeks, cheerleaders and many more. The few weeks before prom, the tension was rising. I can remember there was  great excitement too because there was  not always a prom night at Chocolate High. My senior year was the first year Chocolate High had a prom. The three other High schools had prom nights for years but Chocolate High did not. They said Chocolate High used to have a prom night but it caused so much drama that they stopped having prom night. Therefore, everyone was so excited to find out who will be Prom King and Queen. I was also excited but I knew I would never be selected to be on Prom court. However, it actually happen
